Health Activities

Every year, 2.4 million Indians pass away from curable illnesses! For the impoverished, access to healthcare is an inaccessible luxury. One's health cannot be a luxury. Make a donation to support the health needs of the impoverished. Since gaining independence, India has advanced quickly in the field of health. Nonetheless, a number of startling statistics from the NFHS make it very evident that access to healthcare is still a problem. While rural India's health statistics remain dismal, urban slum dwellers' health and access to care are similarly appalling, with less than 4% of government primary healthcare facilities catering to their needs. Two key factors contribute to the poor health of urban slum dwellers: first, a lack of education and awareness; and second, a refusal to forgo a day's pay to travel to the closest medical facility. Thus, the insatiable need for healthcare for the impoverished goes unmet. Therefore, a two-pronged strategy is urgently needed: first, to deliver high-quality healthcare services to the impoverished at their doorstep; and second, to raise healthcare knowledge and encourage modern healthcare seeking behavior among those who are less fortunate.
